From an advertisers perspective you need to deal with GAIN Publishing,
Inc. part of Claria (formerly known as GATOR).
Users receive advertising from the GAIN Network only if they choose
to download or use free GAIN supported software or GAIN EntryPasses
for Web sites that are part of the GAIN Network. To view a list

Claria suffered and to some degree is still suffering from the
spyware label associated with GATOR, hence the rebranding of the
company to Claria. This label arose because if dubious tactics used
to get the 'media plugins' installed on users computers, lack of
transparency about what the plugins actually did, difficultty in
removing them and bad press surrounding a number of operators.
NB. If you want a laugh just look at the top of this page at what
Googles AdSense advertisors think. It is up to you to decide if
that is an accurate contextual placement on Googles part :-)
However new levels of transparency amongst operators such as Claria
and the continued growth of the freeware software market which they
play a critical roll in supporting means that they are here to stay.
We personally believe media plugins are undesirable as they piggy
back on online publishers content, without contributing revenue
to them. Much like the ability of publishers to opt out of Microsofts
Smart Tags programmed by inserting code into their pages as a good
will gesture Claria and other plugin based companies should provide
a means for site owners to disable targeting based on their content.
